March 24, 2016 was a historic day for Baltimore transplant, Patricia Johnson-Harris. Harris, who for years has been coordinating book signing opportunities for other authors, held her very own book signing at the Frederick Douglass Maritime Museum. The Frederick Douglass Maritime Museum was the perfect location to celebrate the launch of her literary career as it is near the site where Frederick Douglass, a former slave, purchased his first book as noted on the venue’s website.
This was not your average author’s book signing. Anyone who has attended any of Harris’ events knew this one would be epic. It began with the stunning location along the Fells Point waterfront located directly across from Under Armor site. Reflecting the setting sun off of the gentle waters of the inner harbor, the night offered attendees a catered event with tasty offerings by Jackie and Donald Catering. The table design and candy bar was arranged by A Vision by Shaye Event Planning & Management. The specially designed cake was prepared by Rhonda’s Cakes. Of course, musical interludes were courtesy of Charm City Jazz and featured the jazz saxophonist extraordinaire, Isaac Parham.
